OUR PROGRAMS

Health Care Policies All children are required to have a medical examination prior to admission to the Center and annually thereafter. The Center provides forms that must be completed by your doctor or clinic. Your child's immunization record must be up-to-date prior to admission. All staff member will conduct a daily health check of all children at the Center. The person dropping the child off must remain while the health check is being done. If any symptoms of illness are found, the child must be taken home. If your child becomes ill while at the Center, you will be notified immediately and be required to pick up your child he or she cannot remain at the Center. If your child is absent due to a contagious disease, you must submit a doctor's statement before the child will be allowed to return.

Discipline

We strive to help children develop self-control and respect for themselves, adults and other children in the Center. The caring and professional staff models, directs and supports children as they learn to develop their own internal controls. When needed, adults will stop and/or redirect children's actions until they are able to control their own behavior. Corporal punishment is not allowed.

Parent Participation

Your involvement has a great impact on your child's progress. You are always welcome to visit the Center and join in your child's classroom activities. Please plan to visit with your child's teacher at least once a week. We are always available to answer your questions and to discuss your child's progress.

Parent-teacher conferences, meetings and other activities are scheduled throughout the year. We produce a flyer on parent activities and announce special events. Please feel free to make suggestions and recommendations about how parents can become more involved.

Vacations & Holidays

We are open all year round except for: New Year's Eve and New Year's Day; Martin Luther King Jr:s birthday; Good Friday; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day and the day after; and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We are also closed the days between Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Field Trips

We occasionally take the children on field trips to points of interest in St. Louis, giving children the opportunity to expand their awareness of the world at large. Trip sites might include play museums, pumpkin picking, apple picking, the zoo, parks and many other places.
